Sloan Energy Club 7/10/2017 15.366 Energy Ventures Applications Extended to July 14 The deadline for applying to Energy Ventures has been extended to July 14 and Energy Club members are given priority. Interested in clean energy / water tech and entrepreneurship? Want to try your hand at commercializing a new business model or a technology out of MIT's labs? Then fall semester's 15.366 Energy Ventures course is for you. In the past 10 years, class alumni have gone on to found over 25 companies in cleantech. Enrollment is by application only. Applications are due by Friday July 14 at 11:59PM. 15.366 Energy Ventures meets Thursdays 5-8pm in the fall semester. Note that Friday recitations are optional. Now in its 10th year, the MIT Clean Energy Prize is the nation's largest and oldest student-run clean energy business plan competition. Since 2008, past winners have raised over $500M to back their clean energy ventures. In 2017, MIT CEP gave away $200,000+ in cash prizes to 17 Finalist teams. We are looking for students interested in creating partnerships within the clean energy entrepreneurship community, gaining valuable leadership and management experience, working on a cross-departmental MIT/Harvard team, and driving the success and evolution of the prestigious MIT Clean Energy Prize. The Managing Directors' role is to lead organizing team and the prize from start to finish, serve as the primary representatives of the competition (externally), and help manage major Sponsor relationships with leading companies in the energy sector. Environmental Voter Project: Campus Coordinator The Environmental Voter Project (EVP) is a cutting-edge nonprofit whose research shows that there are 15.78 million environmentalists who don’t vote in most elections. EVP’s #1 goal is to make sure that all environmentalists (especially nonvoters) vote in every election so that we can bring voter turnout to a tipping point of overwhelming demand for environmental leadership. EVP is seeking applicants for its selective Campus Coordinator Program for the 2017- 2018 academic year. Each Campus Coordinator will work closely with EVP’s National Field Director to build a campus-specific strategic plan and then oversee all organizing and voter contact for that designated college campus.
